Amen Brother. This quote is missing an important part though, when it is in the context of living in a trailer. This is how is should read, “Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful, because if not you will go absolutely insane.” We definitely have had challenges in living simply. Most of our belongings are in storage in Portland, and its been an adjustment to work with the space we have. We had to carefully pick and choose what we decided to keep store with us. It is amazing all of the things that we don’t need! In the kitchen we have 2 plates, 4 forks, 1 saucepan, 1 stock pot, 1 Pyrex casserole and a utensil crock. And of course we have paper plates and utensils in case we have company! Ha! I didn’t sacrifice on my clothing and shoes though. There are things that I can live without, but I do love my clothes and shoes! Even with the space being small, Ihave tried to make it feel comfortable and uniquely ours. We love it!
